Voro Therapeutics Partners with Daiichi Sankyo to Develop Tumor-Activated ADCs Using PrimeBody Platform
核心洞察
Voro Therapeutics (搜索) announced a research collaboration with Daiichi Sankyo to advance tumor-activated antibody drug conjugates using its proprietary PrimeBody platform technology.
The PrimeBody platform incorporates masking domains and protease-cleavable linkers to keep biologics inactive in circulation and healthy tissues, with selective activation in the tumor microenvironment.
The collaboration aims to expand the therapeutic index of ADCs by enabling targeting of antigens historically considered too broadly expressed for safe therapeutic intervention.
Voro Therapeutics (搜索) has entered into a research collaboration with Daiichi Sankyo to advance next-generation tumor-activated antibody drug conjugates (ADCs) using the company's proprietary PrimeBody platform. The partnership aims to leverage Voro's masking technology to improve the therapeutic index of ADCs through tumor-selective activation mechanisms.
PrimeBody Platform Technology
The PrimeBody platform incorporates proprietary masking domains and protease-cleavable linkers designed to keep biologics inactive in systemic circulation and healthy tissues. Activation occurs selectively within the tumor microenvironment, potentially enabling the safe deployment of highly potent payloads that are not achievable with conventional approaches.
"Unlocking the full potential of highly potent payloads requires a new level of control over where and when activation occurs," said Ugur Eskiocak, Ph.D., Co-Founder and CEO of Voro Therapeutics (搜索). "PrimeBody is designed to potentially provide that level of control through tumor-selective activation and expand the target universe to include antigens historically considered too broadly expressed."
Collaboration Framework
Under the research agreement, Voro Therapeutics (搜索) will apply its PrimeBody masking and linker technologies to design and characterize masked ADC candidates directed against a selected oncology target. The collaboration will leverage Voro's demonstrated success in creating tumor-activated biologics, including its lead CD47 (搜索) blocker program, which has shown improved therapeutic index in preclinical studies.
Eskiocak emphasized the potential impact of this approach: "We believe this approach has the potential to fundamentally expand the therapeutic index of ADCs. We are excited to collaborate with Daiichi Sankyo, a global leader in ADC innovation with a proven track record of developing transformative medicines for patients."
Upcoming Data Presentations
Voro Therapeutics (搜索) will present new preclinical data showcasing the PrimeBody platform and its lead program VOR-101 (搜索) at two major scientific conferences. At the American Association for Cancer (搜索) Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2026 in San Diego on April 20th, Aaron Springer, PhD, Associate Director of Preclinical Biology, will present data titled "Tumor-Activated PrimeBody Biologics Platform Enables More Potent CD47 (搜索) Targeting and Superior Therapeutic Index in Preclinical Models."
Additionally, at the Antibody Engineering & Therapeutics (AET) Europe conference in Basel on May 29th, CEO Ugur Eskiocak will present "Tumor-Activated PrimeBody Platform Unlocks the Safe and Effective Delivery of Potent Biologics Beyond the Reach of Conventional Approaches."
Platform Applications
The PrimeBody platform is designed for broad applicability across diverse biologic modalities, including ADCs, T-cell engagers, and cytokines. Voro's lead program features a first-in-class Fc-enhanced, high-affinity CD47 (搜索) blocker for solid tumors (搜索), with additional preclinical programs in immunocytokines and other applications under development.
The presentations will demonstrate how PrimeBody's novel protease-cleavable linkers and affinity-tuned masking domains drive tumor-selective activation, highlighting the platform's broader therapeutic potential across multiple cancer (搜索) treatment modalities.
