Ybrain Launches Enhanced At-Home Electronic Depression Treatment Device with 62.8% Remission Rate
核心洞察
Ybrain (搜索) has launched MINDD STIM+ Pro (搜索), an upgraded version of Korea's first at-home electronic medicine for depression (搜索) treatment, featuring enhanced capacity and accessibility.
Clinical trials at six Korean medical institutions demonstrated a 62.8% remission rate for major depressive symptoms (搜索) and 47.74% improvement in depression (搜索) scores.
The new system triples module capacity to six units and increases consumables tenfold, enabling hospitals to treat more patients simultaneously while supporting digital transformation.
Ybrain (搜索), an electronic medicine platform company, has launched MINDD STIM+ Pro (搜索), an enhanced version of Korea's first at-home electronic medicine for depression (搜索) treatment. The upgraded device represents a significant advancement in digital therapeutics, combining improved treatment capacity with demonstrated clinical efficacy.
Clinical Efficacy Demonstrated in Multi-Center Trial
The device's therapeutic effectiveness was validated through a confirmatory clinical trial conducted at six medical institutions in Korea. Results showed a remission rate of 62.8% for major depressive symptoms (搜索), while the Korean version of the Beck Depression (搜索) Inventory-II (K-BDI-II) score improved by 47.74%, demonstrating high treatment efficacy even with home-based therapy.
The treatment protocol involves a 30-minute session once daily for six weeks. The device, worn on the head like a hairband, delivers a mild electric current to the brain (搜索) to treat depression (搜索). This approach has received regulatory approval from both the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (搜索) and the Ministry of Health and Welfare as a non-reimbursed electronic medicine.
Enhanced System Capacity and Hospital Integration
MINDD STIM+ Pro (搜索) consists of a 15-inch touchscreen kiosk, six basic electronic medicine modules, and a personal consumables set. This represents a significant upgrade from the previous MINDD STIM (搜索) system, with the number of basic modules tripled to six and consumables increased tenfold, enabling hospitals to treat more patients simultaneously.
The system allows for simultaneous management of up to six modules, supporting the care of multiple patients at once. When medical staff enter a prescription into the kiosk, patients can take the prescribed module home and continue their treatment. This approach provides personalized treatment through the accumulation of clinical data and compliance monitoring.
Addressing Treatment Accessibility Challenges
The enhanced system particularly benefits patients who may miss treatment opportunities due to difficulties with frequent hospital visits. Through out-of-hospital prescriptions from healthcare providers, these patients can now receive consistent therapy at home, improving treatment accessibility and continuity.
Kiwon Lee, CEO of Ybrain (搜索), explained the system's impact on treatment patterns: "Analysis of hospital prescription data for the previous MINDD STIM (搜索) shows that as the number of modules increases, the proportion of at-home treatments via out-of-hospital prescriptions also rises."
Market Adoption and Digital Transformation
The original MINDD STIM (搜索) system has achieved substantial market penetration, currently supplied to 174 hospitals in Korea with cumulative prescriptions exceeding 220,000 cases. This established foundation provides a strong platform for the enhanced Pro version.
Lee emphasized the broader implications of the technology: "MINDD STIM+ Pro (搜索) will go beyond being a simple treatment device to become a core solution that accelerates the digital transformation of psychiatric hospitals, maximizes operational efficiency, and realizes a patient-centered treatment environment."
The launch of MINDD STIM+ Pro (搜索) represents a significant step forward in digital therapeutics for mental health, combining proven clinical efficacy with enhanced operational capacity to address the growing need for accessible depression (搜索) treatment solutions.
