- Kenai Therapeutics has dosed the first patient in its Phase 1 REPLACE clinical trial of RNDP-001, an off-the-shelf neuron replacement cell therapy for moderate to moderate-severe idiopathic Parkinson's disease. - The therapy aims to replace lost dopamine-producing neurons through a precision neurosurgical procedure, moving beyond symptom management to address the root cause of the disease. - RNDP-001 has received FDA Fast Track designation and is built on a proprietary induced pluripotent stem cell platform, with initial safety and brain imaging data expected in 2026. - The open-label, multi-center trial will enroll up to 12 patients and represents the culmination of decades of foundational research in regenerative neuroscience.
