Lipum Secures €8 Million EU Grant for Phase 2 Rheumatoid Arthritis Trial of Novel BSSL-Targeting Antibody

- Lipum AB has been selected for an €8 million grant from the EU's Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Programme to support a Phase 2 clinical proof-of-concept study of SOL-116 for moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis. - SOL-116 is a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting Bile Salt-Stimulated Lipase (BSSL), representing a novel therapeutic target and mechanism of action for treating chronic inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis. - The non-dilutive funding will accelerate clinical development for a condition affecting approximately 18 million people worldwide, with current treatments primarily addressing symptoms rather than underlying causes. - Lipum leads a consortium with three European partners under the "Boosting the translation of biotech research into innovative health therapies" initiative, following successful completion of Phase 1 studies.
