- NANO Nuclear Energy received a $1.25 million Direct to Phase II SBIR contract from AFWERX to study deploying its KRONOS MMR™ microreactor at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C. - The KRONOS MMR™ is designed to deliver 15 MWe of carbon-free power with walk-away safety features and full island-mode microgrid capability for military energy resilience. - The feasibility study will examine energy demands, grid vulnerabilities, siting options, and regulatory pathways for introducing nuclear microreactor technology to dense urban military installations. - This contract represents a significant milestone for NANO Nuclear's defense sector expansion and validates the growing military demand for next-generation nuclear energy solutions.
