- The Vector State Research Centre in Novosibirsk is simultaneously developing three mRNA vaccine candidates targeting HIV, monkeypox, and tick-borne encephalitis, currently in animal immunogenicity testing. - Senior researcher Larisa Karpenko announced the developments at the Engineering Biology and Biopharmaceuticals conference, alongside earlier mRNA vaccines for COVID-19, H1N1 influenza, and H5Nx avian influenza. - Vector is also pursuing mRNA-based therapies for diseases linked to defective protein synthesis, including anaemia, and collaborating on personalized neoantigen cancer vaccines. - A separate oncolytic virus-based breast cancer drug developed with Vector's involvement has completed a Phase I trial, with approximately 55% of advanced-disease patients showing tumor shrinkage or disease stabilization.
