FDA Approves Alhemo for Hemophilia and alfapump System for Liver Cirrhosis

- The FDA has approved Alhemo (concizumab-mtci) for routine prophylaxis to prevent bleeding episodes in hemophilia A and B patients with inhibitors. - Recommended dosing for Alhemo is available in the prescribing information, with common adverse reactions including injection site reactions and hives. - Sequana Medical NV's alfapump System, designed to remove excess peritoneal fluid in liver cirrhosis patients, has also received FDA approval. - The alfapump System offers an alternative to repeated paracentesis by continuously draining fluid into the bladder for natural elimination.
