- A research team at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) has developed a patient-centric "AI Virtual Patient Simulation System" based on a continuously updated "digital twin" model. - The system dynamically integrates multimodal data, including genomic data, medical imaging and clinical records, to track condition changes and predict treatment effectiveness in real time. - A novel framework named ViGNet achieved 82.55% discrimination performance in predicting immunotherapy response in non-small cell lung cancer patients. - The technology was shortlisted as a finalist for the 2026 Global Mobile Awards and is advancing toward commercialisation and clinical deployment.
