- Mo Haque was diagnosed with stage 4 inoperable bowel cancer in December 2014 and told his chances of successful treatment were small. - After chemotherapy failed and the cancer was deemed terminal, community fundraising of nearly £200,000 enabled access to private immunotherapy in June 2016. - By 2018, there was no evidence of disease in his body, and after ten years of monitoring, he was discharged by his medical team in April 2025. - Haque was later diagnosed with Lynch syndrome, a genetic condition that increases cancer risk, which also made him a candidate for immunotherapy.
