Inclusion Criteria
Current student at University of Otago, Christchurch campus or University of Canterbury, Christchurch campus
Aged between 18 and 65 years
Self-reporting high levels of rumination (> 50 on the Ruminative Responses Scale)
Exclusion Criteria
current suicidal ideation
bipolar disorder
psychotic disorder
neurological disease
current severe substance use disorder
unable to communicate in English
inability to engage with an online intervention

Name Time Method Feasibility - recruitment rate and strategy[Numbers of individuals expressing interest, completed online screening for rumination levels, number eligible, number consented Assessed at the conclusion of the recruitment period.];Feasibility - adherence to study protocol[Number of sessions completed over the intervention period, number of people who completed baseline, treatment-end and follow-up research measures Baseline to treatment-end (2 weeks after baseline) to follow-up (6 weeks after baseline)];Feasibility - treatment acceptability and experience. Name Time Method Objective cognitive function[Screen for Cognitive Impairment in Psychiatry - a brief (10 minutes) cognitive testing battery covering domains of verbal learning and memory, executive function, processing speed, and visuospatial ability. Conducted by a research assistant, who will be trained by a clinical neuropsychologist (KD). Baseline, treatment-end (2 weeks after baseline)];Subjective cognitive function[Cognitive Failures Questionnaire - self-report questionnaire Baseline, treatment-end (2 weeks after baseline)];Rumination[Ruminative Responses Scale - self-report questionnaire Baseline, treatment-end (2 weeks after baseline)];Depression and anxiety.
