A Prospective Interventional Study On The Effectiveness Of Juglans Regia 30C In The Symptomatic Management Of Tinea Corporis Assessed Through Clinical Symptom Score

Tinea corporis is a common superficial fungal infection of the skin, especially prevalent in warm, humid climates and increasingly associated with recurrence and antifungal resistance. Conventional treatments often require prolonged therapy and may still lead to relapse, highlighting the need for safer alternatives.

Juglans regia, a lesser-known homoeopathic remedy prepared from the green walnut rind and leaves, is traditionally used for itchy, burning, vesicular and ringworm-like skin eruptions. Despite its indications in Materia Medica, clinical evidence on its role in Tinea corporis is limited.This study is a prospective interventional clinical trial aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of Juglans regia 30C in managing symptomatic Tinea corporis using a Clinical Symptom Score (assessing pruritus, papules, erythema, and scaling).

Thirty patients confirmed with Tinea corporis (via KOH mount) will receive Juglans regia 30C over a period of three months with periodic follow-ups. Pre- and post-treatment symptom scores will be compared to assess improvement.Primary outcome is to know Significant reduction in Clinical Symptom Score after three months of treatment.Methodology includes  Purposive sampling, standardized case-taking, photographic documentation and statistical analysis using Wilcoxon’s test.The study aims to generate evidence-based support for the use of Juglans regia in dermatophytosis and to explore its role as a safe, gentle, and effective therapeutic option for Tinea corporis.
