Adults over the age of 50 years with primary symptomatic knee OA according to the criteria of the American College of Rheumatology
Kellgren and Lawrence grade 2-3
Able to ambulate
Moderate to severe knee pain[VAS > 5]
Knee joint disease other than OA
History of spinal stenosis
Evidence of neurologic disease by history or physical examination
Secondary causes of arthritis (inflammatory or metabolic)
History of a surgical intervention or intra-articular injection in the affected knee in the previous 6 months
Any contraindication to radiography
Serious psychiatric disorder
Cognitive dysfunction or could not cooperate or communicate
Unwillingness to accept either of the interventions in this studyOver metal implants
On cardiac pace maker
Pregnancy
Thrombosis
Coagulation disorders(haemophilia)
Use of anticoagulant drugs (except low dose Aspirin)
Malignancy
Acute inflammation in the area of treatment
