Inclusion Criteria
20-65 years of age.
• Patients with Dummett gingival pigmentation index Score of 2 and 3.
• Physiological diffused gingival pigmentation bilaterally in maxillary arch.
• Presence of >= 2mm width of keratinized gingiva.
• Thick periodontal biotype.
• Systematically healthy patients.
Exclusion Criteria
• Patients with any uncontrolled systemic conditions.
• Those who were on any analgesics/anti-inflammatory drugs at the time of the study.
• Habit of smoking or chewing tobacco.
• Pathologically pigmented lesions.
• Acute gingival and periodontal lesions.
• Thin periodontal biotype.
