Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\)Age greater than 14 years.
  • 2\)Mandibular second premolar or first molar extraction cases.
  • 3\)Missing mandibular second premolar with/without retained deciduous second molars.
  • 4\)No signs of spontaneous mesial posterior tooth movement due to exfoliation of the deciduous second molar on the agenesis site.
  • 5\)Treatment plan should include mandibular molar mesialization of 4mm or more.
  • 6\)Healthy periodontium at the start of the treatment.
  • 7\)No tooth size arch length discrepancy.

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\)Missing or extracted mandibular second molars.
  • 2\)Grossly decayed mandibular second molars.
  • 3\)Patients who had received prosthetic treatment for the missing teeth.
  • 4\)History of previous orthodontic treatment.
  • 5\)Patients with systemic diseases, cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial abnormalities
  • 6\)Patient who is undertaking treatment for any disease or under medication which can affect tooth movement.
