Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • 1\) Mandibular second premolar or first molar extraction cases.
  • 2\) Missing mandibular second premolar with/without retained deciduous second molars.
  • 3\) Carious second premolar or first molar with poor prognosis.
  • 4\) No signs of spontaneous mesial posterior tooth movement due to exfoliation of the deciduous second molar on the agenesis site.
  • 5\) Treatment plan should include mandibular molar mesialization of 4mm or more.
  • 6\) No tooth size arch length discrepancy.
  • 7\) Good oral hygiene

Exclusion Criteria

  • 1\) Missing or extracted mandibular second molars.
  • 2\) Grossly decayed mandibular second molars.
  • 3\) Patients who had received prosthetic treatment for the missing teeth.
  • 4\) Previous orthodontic treatment
  • 5\) Moderate or severe periodontitis.
  • 6\) Patients with systemic diseases, cleft lip and palate
