Overview
Brief Summary
Plateletconcentrates, such as PRF, should be used in meniscal repair to enhance the healing process in the avascular portion of the meniscus. We believe that the use of preparations like PRP or PRF will become widespread because they are relatively easy to produce and safe to use. PRF and PRP are autologous, safe, and cost-effective sources of growth factors, and PRF can freely adapt its shape and act as a scaffold for the meniscal repair. Hence, PRF is effective as a new autologous transplantation technique for meniscus repair. Moreover, the use of PRF and PRP may be a promising alternative in meniscal surgery; however, further studies are required to support the present results.
