1. Patient of age 18 years to 80 years and who are willing to participate and sign informed consent form.
2. Previously diagnosed cases of type 2 diabetes mellitus as per the ADA criteria ; both male and female.
3. Patient on standard line of treatment as per ADA guidelines.
4.HbA1c 6.5 to 9.
1. Pregnant Women and or Breast feeding patients.
2. Patient with egfr less than or equal to 60.
3. Patient suffering from inflammatory bowel disease, malabsorption syndromes.
4. Patients suffering from malignancy, severe infectious disease, immunosuppressive state, chronic liver disease, steroids.
5. Patients with history of bariatric surgery, alcoholism, hyperthyroidism, recent gastroenteritis, recent major lifestyle change including strenuous exercise (working out).
6. Patient with iron deficiency anaemia (Hb less than 10 g/dl).
