Diagnosis will be confirmed with the sign & symptoms of Ulcerative colitis having in the patients.
As per ayurveda sign and symptoms
Atisara (increase frequency of motion)
Sarakta mala pravriti (bloody diarrhoea)
Trushna (excessive thirst)
Shula (abdominal pain)
Vidaha (burning sensation)
Jwara (fever)
Gudapaka (proctitis or inflammation and pus formation around the anus)
Colonoscopy report and/or biopsy suggesting a confirmed diagnosis of Ulcerative colitis.
Patients fulfilling the diagnostic criteria.
Patients will be selected between 18 to 60 years of age irrelevant of gender.
Patient with complications i.e. anal fistula, colonic perforation, cancer.
Severe anemia (hemoglobin < 6gm %)
Patients in remission period.
Severe systemic illness like, uncontrolled diabetes mellitus (HbA1C >7.5), AIDS, hepatitis, cancer, tuberculosis, uncontrolled hypertension etc.
Patients, contraindicated for basti.
