Study Overview

Brief Summary

Healthy individuals will be tested at different times of day to determine whether exercise at a non-expected time results in poorer performance.

Inclusion Criteria

  • 18-25 years old
  • Lower body exercise three or more times per week, all at the same time of day (within 2 hour window)
  • Regular meal times (±1 hour window)
  • Regular sleep times (±1 hour window)

Exclusion Criteria

  • Active or uncontrolled mental or physical health issues
  • Current musculoskeletal injury

Outcomes

Primary Outcomes

Isometric quadriceps strength

Time Frame: 15 minutes

isometric quadriceps strength as determined during dynamometer testing

Secondary Outcomes

  • Isometric hamstring strength(15 minutes)
  • Isokinetic hamstring/quad strength(15 minutes)
