Patients with American Society of Anaesthesiology Physical status I or II of either sex, aged between 1 year and 4 years and weight between 7 kg to 20 kg with Mallampatti grade (MPG) Class 1 and class 2 and undergoing elective surgeries under general anaesthesia in supine position will be included in the study.
1) Refusal of parental consent.
2) Patients undergoing emergency surgery.
3) Patients with increased risk of aspiration.
4) Patients with abnormal or distorted anatomy of the pharynx, limited mouth opening.
5) Patients with obstruction of the airway beyond the larynx like foreign body, masses(cancer), strictures, congenital obstruction, vocal cord scarring, inflammatory conditions like laryngitis, bronchitis, laryngeal pappilomatosis etc.
6) Patients with decreased compliance of lungs like asthma, pneumonitis etc.
7) History of prematurity, seizures, syndromic babies and congenital heart disease
8) History of recent upper respiratory tract infection
9) Children with reported allergy to silicon material.
