简要总结
Title: Effectiveness of Sprinter-Pattern Exercise on the Lumbar Lordotic Curve, Pelvic Tilt, and Low Back Pain in Individuals with Lumbar Hyper-lordosis: A Pre-Post Intervention Study
Summary: Lumbar hyper-lordosis is an excessive inward curvature of the lumbar spine, often linked with anterior pelvic tilt, muscle imbalances, and chronic low back pain. Conventional abdominal exercises may sometimes worsen spinal stress, so alternative exercise approaches are needed.
The Sprinter-pattern exercise, designed by Dietz, combines functional arm and leg movements with abdominal activation to improve trunk stability, posture, and spinal alignment. Previous studies have shown immediate benefits, but evidence for long-term effects is limited.
This study aims to evaluate whether a 4-week program of sprinter-pattern exercise (combined with conventional therapy) can reduce lumbar lordotic angle, correct pelvic tilt, and decrease low back pain in individuals with hyper-lordosis.
Methodology:
-
Design: Pre-post intervention study
-
Sample size: 37 participants (aged 18–50, with lumbar lordosis angle >40° and chronic mechanical back pain >3 months)
-
Intervention: Sprinter-pattern exercise + conventional therapy, 3 sessions per week for 4 weeks
-
Outcome Measures:
-
Lumbar lordotic angle (Kinovea software)
-
Pelvic tilt (pelvic inclinometer)
-
Pain (Numerical Rating Scale)
-
Follow-up: 1 month post-intervention
-
Objectives:
- Assess effect of sprinter-pattern exercise on lumbar lordotic curve.
- Assess effect on pelvic tilt.
- Assess effect on low back pain.Expected Contribution:
If effective, this exercise can provide a non-invasive, cost-effective rehabilitation strategy for managing hyper-lordosis and associated back pain, with potential applications in physiotherapy and posture correction programs.
