the family member is responsible for the patient care, able to read and understand Persian language, 18-80 years-old, have no previous experience of caring a patient with open heart surgery, not being a professional person, the patients’ surgery is elective. Exclusion criteria: occurrence of any postoperative complications such as bleeding, reoperation, etc; the patient is not able to be extubated in the first 24 hours after surgery, patient or family member cannot participate in all educational sessions.
