1.Adult patients (18 â?? 65 years)
2.Severe burns involving 40 â?? 80% TBSA (excluding 1st degree burn area)
3.Admitted to ICU within 24 hours of injury
1.Refusal of consent
2.Extremes of body mass index (BMI less than 17 or more than 35)
3.Extremes of body stature (height less than 150 cm or more than 190 cm)
4.Patients who have received more than 6 hours of formal fluid resuscitation prior to ICU admission
5.Hemodynamically unstable patients on moderate to high dose vasopressor support (noradrenaline requirement more than 0.1 mcg/kg/min or equivalent)
6.Pregnancy
7.Extensive deep burns involving anterior torso limiting scope for repeated POCUS assessment due to difficulty in obtaining an ultrasound window
8.Known cardiac disease
9.Chronic kidney disease on haemodialysis
10.Chronic decompensated liver disease (Child-Pugh C)
11.Severe ARDS at presentation
12.Patients not expected to survive beyond 24 hours
13.Patients with associated major trauma
14.Do not resuscitate orders
