Inclusion Criteria

Elective surgical operation or procedure with a planned duration of more than 60 minutes
- Able to give informed consent independently
- Exsistence of a signed informed consent form

Exclusion Criteria

- Known neurological or psychiatric illness, in particular epilepsy or a history of epileptic seizures
- Contraindications for tDCS/tACS application
- Long-term medication with CNS-active drugs
- Isolation due to multi-resistant pathogens
- Inability of the patient to read or speak German
