Inclusion Criteria

• Adult patients of sound mind (i.e. consent patients)
• At least one primarily four-walled extraction socket
• Good general health
• Full-mouth plaque score (FMPS) = 20%
• Full-mouth bleeding score (FMBS) = 20%
• Absence of residual periodontal infection
• Scheduled for alveolar ridge preservation with DMBB+C and CM before enrolment
• Willing to adhere to a strict Supportive Periodontal Therapy (SPT) protocol

Exclusion Criteria

• Minors
• Pregnancy / breastfeeding
• Patients taking medications that could influence bone metabolism
• Patients with uncontrolled or poorly controlled diabetes
• Patients using anticoagulants
• Patients requiring antibiotic prophylaxis
• Smokers with more than five cig./day
• Patients with known allergic reactions/sensitivity against collagen products
• Patients presenting unstable or life-threatening conditions
