Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Age: people with hip OA aged \> 50 years and people with knee OA aged \> 38 years according to the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) (Altman et al., 1991; Altman et al., 1986\).
  • \- OA diagnosed by a physician or self\-reported OA in the hip and/or the knee (to verify the self\-reported diagnosis, clinical tests are performed to assess the presence of hip and/or knee OA according to the ACR) (Altman et al., 1991; Altman et al., 1986\).
  • \- People who did not receive physical therapy and/or treatments other than from a general practitioner (GP) for OA in the last six month

Exclusion Criteria

  • \- People without an internet access at home
  • \- People without having a smartphone or tablet
  • \- People who are unable to understand the German language
  • \- People who have contraindications (loss of consciousness and cardiovascular disease) for physical activity without medical supervision. In case of uncertainty regarding the suitability for physical activities, a medical clarification is requested.
  • \- People who are on a waiting list for the implantation of a total endoprosthesis (TEP), who already have a fixed appointment for this or whose affected joint has already been replaced by a TEP.
