Healthy volunteers and celiac disease patients
Exclusion Criteria
Any form of disease other than celiac disease. Any long-term medication, pregnancy

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Alteration of flow-mediated dilation (FMD %) of the brachial artery will be evaluated before and after 4 weeks of gluten-free diet
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Blood pressure, heart rate, hormone levels (including incretins such as GLP-1, GLP-2 and Glucagon) inflammatory parameters as well as quality of life (Celiac Disease Questionaire CDQ). Cardiac status before and after the gluten-free diet will be examined via echocardiography. Cardiac function will be characterized via left ventricular ejection fraction, E/E’ ratio, MAPSE, tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE) and global longitudinal strain (GLS) as measured during echocardiography.
