Anaesthesia for craniotomy requires special considerations. uncontrolled post operative and intraoperative pain can lead to increase in intracranial pressure.
Methods like scalp block therefore are being used to blunt hemodynamic response to pain in craniotomies, decrease opioid consumption and reduce post operative pain consumption.
We are using adjuvants like ketamine and dexmedetomidine with bupivacaine to compare the analgesic efficacy and effectiveness of scalp block.

入选标准
- •Patient fulfilling criteria of American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA) of Classes I/ II 2) Patient aged 18-65 years of both sexes.
- •Patients undergoing elective supratentorial craniotomy under general anaesthesia.
- •Patients giving consent willingly.
排除标准
- •Patient with ASA CLASS III, IV & V â— Refusal of patient â— Patient with difficult surgical anatomy â— Patient with previous craniotomy incision â— Local infection at the site of injection â— History of allergy to opioid or local anaesthesia â— Inability to comprehend or participate in pain scoring system.
