Periodontal disease is a chronic inflammatory disease which elevates the levels of salivary total proteins. Hence, the aim of the study is to evaluate the effect of periodontal therapy on the salivary total protein levels so as to maintain the overall health of the patients.Pathologic periodontal pockets will be treated thereby eliminating the diseased condition. If salivary total protein levels decrease after periodontal therapy it will help you improve the protein function in the body which is very important for the general health of the patient.

入选标准
- •Subjects with generalised chronic periodontitis and probing pocket depth of 4mm or more in more than 30% of sites
- •Subjects with minimum complement of 20 natural teeth
- •Systemically healthy individuals with no underlying medical conditions.
排除标准
- •Patients with history of salivary gland diseases and apparent oral infections
- •Subjects with injuries or bleeding in the oral cavity unrelated to gingivitis or periodontitis
- •Subjects with intake of antibiotics or anti-inflammatory drugs within 6 months prior to the study
- •Patients with history of past periodontal therapy
- •Patients on protein supplements
- •Pregnant and lactating females 7.
