Adults (higher than 18 years old) hospitalized in intensive care unit (ICU) of a philanthropic hospital due to postoperative cardiac surgery or acute respiratory failure
Patients with plegia, paresis, amputation or congenital deformities in at least one limb, and patients with data insufficiently described in their hospital chart

Name Time Method Reduction of intensive care unit (ICU) length of stay by at least 10%, measured in hours of stay in ICU
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Highest degree of muscle strength at discharge from the intensive care unit of at least 10%, measured by handgrip dynamometry in kilogram-force (kgf);Highest degree of muscle strength at discharge from the intensive care unit of at least 5 points, measured by Medical Resource Council scale (MRC) ranging from 0 to 60 points;Highest functionality degree at discharge from the intensive care unit by at least 5 points, measured by Intensive Care Unit Mobility Scale (IMS) ranging from 0 to 10 points
