Inclusion Criteria

1. >18 years old

2. Diagnosed as acute pancreatitis based on (any 2 out of the three)

1. Clinical presentation -acute onset characteristic abdominal pain

2. Serum amylase or lipase exceeding 3 times the upper limit of normal (100 IU/L)

3. Characteristic findings on abdominal ultrasonography and/or computed tomography

Exclusion Criteria

1. Post-Instrumentation pancreatitis.

2. Traumatic pancreatitis

3. Known cases of chronic pancreatitis with a recurrent acute event

Primary Outcome Measures

Outcome measures shall be estimated with Severity as per atlanta criteria, length of hospital stay, length of icu stay, mortality rate, development of organ dysfunction (kidney injury, liver failure, shock, hematological dysfunction etc) and will be measured in relation to TyG index.Timepoint: Baseline, 48hours, At Discharge
