Children (age 6weeks to 60 months) with cyanotic or acyanotic heart disease with congestive heart failure presenting to Department of Pediatrics, MAULANA AZAD MEDICAL COLLEGE AND ASSOCIATED LOK NAYAK HOSPITAL, New Delhi.
1. Children with past history of thyroid disease (congenital hypothyroidism) or history of intake of thyroxine in last 3months.
2. Children with congenital anomalies like Down Syndrome, Williams-Beuren syndrome or
other associated syndromes who are predisposed to underlying thyroid disease.
3. Children with history of birth asphyxia or hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).
4. Children with cardiomyopathy or myocarditis.
