Inclusion Criteria

Patients of both sex and age group of 45-65 years, coming to Pain OPD with history of pain for the last 3 months according to the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) criteria for knee osteoarthritis along with radiologic evidence of joint destruction based on Kellgren-Lawrence criteria (including grades 1, 2, and 3)

Exclusion Criteria

1) any contraindication to do MRI including pacemakers, aneurism clips, claustrophobia, non-MRI compatible metallic devices in the body.

2) viscosupplements, ozone, corticosteroid etc. injection at knee joint in the preceding 3 months.

3) any kind of knee or other surgery in the past 6 months.

4) having autoimmune disease, collagen vascular disease.

5) history of cancer and immunodeficiency state.

6) active infection or inflamed or traumatic lesion in the knee.

7) platelet disorder, low platelet count (less than 150,000/microliter) and blood dyscrasias.

8) intake of anticoagulant or anti-platelet drugs within 10 days of injection.

9) intake of NSAIDs group of drugs within 5 days of injection.

10) intake of systemic corticosteroids within 2 weeks of the injection.

11) pregnancy and lactation.

16) any kind of knee joint deformities like genu valgum or genu varum more than 20 degrees.
