Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • a. Volunteers who are aged 18-50 years
  • b. Presenting at least 1 tooth with diagnosed dentin hypersensitivity (Painful response to dental explorer) and VAS score at baseline of at least 5 for the sensitive teeth
  • c. Volunteers with good general and oral health and acceptable hygiene as determined by clinical investigator
  • d. Willingness to participate in the study and able to provide written and oral informed consent.

Exclusion Criteria

  • a. Systemic illness and/or dental emergency condition needing urgent treatment
  • b. Severe generalized periodontitis.
  • c. Non-surgical or surgical therapy for periodontitis within last 12 months
  • d. Presence of active caries, cracks, fractures in cervical areas of affected teeth
  • e. Restorations, prosthesis, orthodontic appliances involving cervical areas of affected teeth.
  • f. Ongoing use of analgesics, anti-inflammatory or anti-histaminic agents
  • g. Use of other home-care desensitizing toothpastes or in-office treatments within 8 weeks
  • h. Self-reported pregnancy or nursing
  • i. Current self-reported drug or alcohol dependence
  • j. Non-willingness to participate.
