Inclusion Criteria
- Current diagnosis of community-acquired pneumonia.
- Evidence of systemic inflammatory response to infection.
Exclusion Criteria
- Atypical or viral pneumonia based on clinical or epidemiologic suspicion by the investigator.
- Presence of organ failure.
