Patients between 13 years to 21 years of age who could understand, assess, and answer the questionnaires
- undergoing upper and lower fixed orthodontic treatment with MBT prescription 0.022-inch metal brackets having double-mesh base
- finishing arch wires present for at least two months (0.019 x 0.025-inch stainless steel)
- History of taking medicine periodically or in the last 24 hours (eg, painkillers, corticosteroids, and antiflu drugs)
- Debonded brackets at the time of debonding
- Missing teeth except extracted premolars
- Surgical treatment (including impacted tooth removal), no tooth transplantation, and no miniscrews present
- Craniofacial deformities that would effect dentoalveolar bone quality (eg, cleft lip and palate).
