Healthcare of Ukrainian refugees in general practice:experiences and needs of refugees in Germany

Conditions
Experiences of Ukrainian refugees with the German health care system and especially with primary care are investigated. Interviews will be conducted with people who have fled to Germany from Ukraine due to the war and who have been living in Germany for several months and are of legal age.

Inclusion Criteria

War refugee from Ukraine, Ukrainian nationality, residing in Germany at the time of interview, existing experience with primary care in Germany, sufficient language skills in English or German available

Exclusion Criteria

Refugees without Ukrainian nationality, minors, refugees not living in Germany, no language skills in English or German or language skills too weak for an interview, no contact with healthcare and especially general practice in Germany existing

Primary Outcome Measures

The aim is to determine the experiences refugees from Ukraine have made with the German healthcare system and especially with general practice. It should be ascertained whether there are barriers and support factors, which similarities and differences to healthcare in Ukraine were experienced and how they were dealt with. Qualitative individual interviews with Ukrainian refugees in Germany will be conducted.

Furthermore, it will be determined whether and, if so, which information and support needs exist among Ukrainian refugees in order to improve their healthcare and, in particular, general practitioner care in Germany.
