Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •Ischemic or hemorrhagic hemispheric stroke (confirmed by imaging).
  • •\-Early subacute phase (7 \- 80 days post stroke) at inclusion
  • •\-sufficient head control and able to sit
  • •\-Sufficient vigilance for study participation
  • •\- Patient should be able to understand the study \- with appropriate explanation \- and must be able to provide consent. If necessary, caregivers can be consulted to consent for the patient.
  • •Additional criteria for Neglect subgroups: Presence of visuospatial neglect

Exclusion Criteria

  • •\- previous stroke
  • •\-Patient with stroke in the brain stem with vestibulo\-ocular symptoms
  • •\- Epilepsy
  • •\- Severe cognitive deficits
  • •\- Severe traumatic brain injury, recent head surgery, craniectomy, metal implant in brain
  • •\- Psychotropic medications, GABAergic preparations (L\-DOPA, SSRI and antiepileptic drugs due to non\-epileptic indication are allowed at a constant dose)
  • •\- Pregnancy
  • •\- History of severe alcoholism or substance abuse, severe psychiatric illness such as depression, psychosis (if not in remission)
