Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Ischemic or hemorrhagic hemispheric stroke (confirmed by imaging).
  • \-Early subacute phase (7 \- 80 days post stroke) at inclusion
  • \-sufficient head control and able to sit
  • \-Sufficient vigilance for study participation
  • \- Patient should be able to understand the study \- with appropriate explanation \- and must be able to provide consent. If necessary, caregivers can be consulted to consent for the patient.
  • Additional criteria for Neglect subgroups: Presence of visuospatial neglect

Exclusion Criteria

  • \- previous stroke
  • \-Patient with stroke in the brain stem with vestibulo\-ocular symptoms
  • \- Epilepsy
  • \- Severe cognitive deficits
  • \- Severe traumatic brain injury, recent head surgery, craniectomy, metal implant in brain
  • \- Psychotropic medications, GABAergic preparations (L\-DOPA, SSRI and antiepileptic drugs due to non\-epileptic indication are allowed at a constant dose)
  • \- Pregnancy
  • \- History of severe alcoholism or substance abuse, severe psychiatric illness such as depression, psychosis (if not in remission)
