Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Native speaker level in German (for patients prior to stroke)
- •For patients:
- •\- Etiology: first stroke
- •\- Phase of disease: subacute or chronic phase (at least 6 weeks after stroke)
- •\- Presence of aphasia/ residual aphasia
- •\- Capacity to consent
- •\- Treatment at the Aachen aphasia ward at the time of participation in the study
Exclusion Criteria
- •\- Active implants
- •\- Intracorporal metal which can harm the patient by movement or heating
- •\- Dentures with magnetic parts
- •\- Implant in head which leads to severe artifacts
- •\- MR\-safe passive implants (e.g., artificial knee or hip) without valid document
- •\- Claustrophobia
- •\- Pregnancy
- •\- Other independent neurological diseases which lead to language disorders, particularly dementia and severe microangiopathies
- •\- Uncontrolled epilepsy
