Inclusion Criteria
Undergoing emergency abdominal laparotomy in view of intestinal perforation peritonitis induced sepsis.
Exclusion Criteria
Any contraindication to epidural block such as coagulation abnormalities; mean arterial pressure <65 mm Hg etc.
Failure of thoracic block assesses by loss to pin prick sensation as done routinely.
Peritonitis due to trauma or tertiary peritonitis.
