Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • American Society of Anesthesiologists I ,II or III
  • Scheduled for elective surgery and requiring general anesthesia with direct laryngoscopy.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Patient refusal
  • Edentuolus patients
  • Patients in whom the interincisor gap was less than 3 cm
  • Patients with head and neck pathologies
  • Parturients
  • Rapid sequence intubation
  • Pre\-existing limitation or pain with cervical spine movement.
  • Radiotherapy at the cervical level.
