Inclusion Criteria
All patients of either sex belonging to American society of Anaesthesiologists(ASA) physical status I-III scheduled to undergo elective surgery who are able to understand this study protocol.
Exclusion Criteria
The patients
On treatment with drugs known to effect gastric motility,renal failure,intracranial space occupying lesions,patients who are having increased baseline gastric residual volume(pregnancy,undergoing GI surgery,poorly controlled diabetes mellitus,gastro esophageal reflux disease,hiatus hernia,BMI >35kgm-2 and who refuse to participate in the study.
