Inclusion Criteria
1) admitted with a major diagnosis of sprain and strain of lumbar spine (S3350) caused by a traffic accident
2) aged above 18 years
3) acute stage within 7 days of onset from the traffic accident
4) findings of MCs on magnetic resonance image (MRI) of lumbar spine confirmed by a radiologist
5) the hospitalization period of 9 days to 14 days
Exclusion Criteria
1) diagnosed with lumbar disc herniation (protrusion or above) or lumbar spinal stenosis
2) existence of fracture, spondylolisthesis or active lumbar radiculopathy
3) whose questionnaires were not completed
