Inclusion Criteria

1) study participants from schools sharing similarity in standard of teaching with no previous history of school based oral health education programme

2) all those children whose parents gave consent for examination

Exclusion Criteria

1) Study participants with special health care needs like physically handicapped children or having any systemic diseases /conditions and under medication

2) Study subjects suffering from any maxillofacial trauma which requires emergency treatment

3) Study subjects with retained primary teeth

4) Study subjects undergoing orthodontic treatment

5) Study subjects visiting a dentist regularly or receiving oral health education through another source
