Relationship between echocardiographic parameters and short-term prognosis of pulmonary hypertension among paediatric population

研究概览

简要总结

The study will be conducted after obtaining IRC and IEC approval and CTRI registration. After IRC and IEC approval and CTRI registration children who are diagnosed to have PH and who are referred for bedside echocardiography will be recruited in the study. Test details will be explained to the parents and participants. Informed consent will be taken from the parents as well as participants who are 12 years and above. The participant will undergo routine heart scan as directed by the

physician as per standard guidelines. ECG gated standard views will be acquired using transthoracic echocardiography. Using 2D echocardiography, all the basic parameters including tissue Doppler velocity at septal and RV free wall are obtained. Conventional parameters like RA volume, RA area, LA volume, LA area and RV strain will also be obtained. Analysis of RV strain will be done offline using a presently marked semi-automated software Echo PAC version 202. All the procedures are done as a part of standard care, only the test results will be obtained from the patient files. No additional test or drug will be given to the participant for the purpose of this study.

  • All subjects having Pulmonary hypertension between the age group of 3 months and 18 years of age.

排除标准

  • Hemodynamically unstable paediatric population.
