Inclusion Criteria

Patients undergoing oncologic resection for suspected or proven colorectal carcinoma at Augsburg University Hospital who do not meet any of the exclusion criteria listed below will be included.

Exclusion Criteria

Patients unable to consent or patients under legal guardianship
Minor patients (age < 18 years)
Pregnant patients
Patients undergoing emergency surgery
Patients undergoing surgery without curative intention
Restricted mobility (bedridden patients, permanent dependence on a wheelchair or crutches, post-amputation lower extremity, unhealed fractures, neurodegenerative diseases)
Severe heart failure NYHA III or IV
Presence of dementia syndrome
Participation in other intervention studies that have a potential impact on the endpoints of this study
