This study is a randomized controlled trial designed to compare the effectiveness of active versus passive posterolateral mobilization with movement (MWM) when combined with conventional physiotherapy in subjects with Stage II and III adhesive capsulitis. A total of 51 participants aged 40–60 years, clinically diagnosed with adhesive capsulitis and experiencing shoulder pain greater than 3/10 on the Numerical Pain Rating Scale, will be recruited from a tertiary care hospital in Belagavi, Karnataka. Participants will be randomly allocated into three groups: Group A receiving conventional physiotherapy alone, Group B receiving conventional physiotherapy with active posterolateral MWM, and Group C receiving conventional physiotherapy with passive posterolateral MWM. All interventions will be administered for six sessions over two weeks. Outcome measures will include pain intensity assessed using the Numerical Pain Rating Scale, shoulder range of motion measured with a universal goniometer, and functional disability evaluated using the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI). Ethical clearance has been obtained from the Institutional Ethics Committee, and the study aims to determine whether active or passive application of posterolateral MWM provides superior improvements in pain reduction, shoulder mobility, and functional outcomes in individuals with adhesive capsulitis.

入选标准
- •Both genders, age 40-60 years old.
- •Clinical diagnosis of adhesive capsulitis, stage 2 or 3, based on history and physical examination.
- •Symptom duration is 1 month to 12 months Pain more than 3 on 10 on NPRS during movement.
- •Patient willing to participate.
排除标准
- •Any fracture of the proximal humerus, clavicle, scapula, or AC joint reconstruction, or any shoulder surgery within the previous 12 months.
- •Stage 2 or 3 full-thickness rotator cuff tear requiring surgical repair or clinically suspected large tear (positive drop arm, weakness).
- •Active inflammatory arthropathy (rheumatoid arthritis) or septic arthritis of the shoulder.
- •Neurological disorder affecting shoulder function e.g. cervical radiculopathy, brachial plexopathy, post stroke shoulder involvement Corticosteroid injection in shoulder within past 4 weeks.
- •Uncontrolled diabetes (with severe neuropathy), malignancy, severe osteoporosis, or contraindication to manual therapy.
- •History of CABG or open-heart surgery in the past 6 months.
