Inclusion Criteria

1. diagnosis of type 2 diabetes
2. Hemoglobin A1C more than 6.5 % within 3 months before enrollment

Exclusion Criteria

1. Hemoglobin A1C more than 9% within 3 months before enrollment
2. insulin or Glucagon-like peptide-1 agonist users
3. Liver cirrhosis
4. Pregnancy or expected to pregnant within 1 year
5. Receive tube feeding
6. Glomerular filtration rate less than 60 ml/min/1.73m2
