3)No history of allergy to lignocaine
4)No ongoing psychiatric treatment
5)Simple extraction procedure using forceps
6)Extraction of lower 1st and 2nd molars and premolars
7)Willing to participate in the study
2)Presenting with coexisting systemic illness
3)Facial asymmetry ( congenital or acquired) with disfigurement of face including mandible
4)Difficult extraction procedure necessitating prolonged or supplementary anaesthesia
5)Extraction of lower anteriors or 3rd molars
