Brief Summary

A diary of Reflection is aflexible alternative approach to the psychiatric nursing students. Studentskeep a personal diary in which they reflect and write about their experiencewith mentally ill patient by interacting and observing behavioral outcome ofpatients etc . which develops experiential learning skills in psychiatricnurses. Reflection diarywill helps to develop critical thinking, self-awareness and analytical skills.Reflection diary can help student nurses to inform about what worked or didn’twork, what might need to be done differently, or how individuals may need todevelop their behavior or practice. Sometime psychiatric nursing students does not like to interact withmentally ill patient because of certain abnormal behavior and symptom presentslike aggression, abusiveness, irritable, anxious etc. Reflection diary willmotivate and initiate them to interact with mentally ill patients comfortablyin any circumstances and student nurses will gain interest to use it. Reflection diary will help the psychiatric nursing students toreflect on their experience in much effective way. Experiential learning skillswill develop place by regular practice on reflection diary, which will developa stable learning.

  • 4th year BSc Nursing and 2nd year Post Basic BSc Nursing And Post Graguate Nursing Students.
  • All the materials and Reflection Diary communicated in all means were in English language.
Exclusion Criteria

Student belongs to general nurse midwivies nursing course Student who are not present at the time of data collection.
